Christian Oerter apprenticed under Andreas Albrecht in 1759, and took over master of the Christian's Spring shop in 1766. Unfortunatly he died at age 29 in 1777 leaving a few but highly reguarded pieces. Obviously he was a very talented gunsmith.
Taking on this project from the perspective of having this gun built along side some him I departed from my usual style. I didn't ad my own flare but rather to stay true to the time and place. It ended up being a nice pointing piece with graceful lines reminecent of guns built for the working person. Not as fancy as his heavily silver inlayed griffon gun or the like.

All Sorts Of Swords
One of my favorite pass times is sword smithing. It seems much easier to do than making knives and more interesting in conversation at the very least. Here's a few different varieties, basket hilt, D-guard, hunting sword, etc.
