Early Lancaster .58

This summer I had the privilege of examining many original Lancaster long rifles by Haines, Albrecht, Dickert, Henry, the lion Beck and several other makers of the area.  One that stuck in my mind was a relatively plain rifle by Andreas Albrecht (1718-1802). He became a gun stocker apprentice at the age of 13,  served as a armorer in the first two Silesia wars in Frederick the greats army, (which the third and what was really the first world war is what we call the French and Indian War) arrived in Philadelphia in 1750 and later founded the gun shop in Christian's Spring.   I had the inspiration of one of his rifles  in my mind, yet mine came out nothing like his.  Exactly what I wanted.
