Christian Oerter apprenticed under Andreas Albrecht in 1759, and took over master of the Christian's Spring shop in 1766. Unfortunatly he died at age 29 in 1777 leaving a few but highly reguarded pieces. Obviously he was a very talented gunsmith.
Taking on this project from the perspective of having this gun built along side some him I departed from my usual style. I didn't ad my own flare but rather to stay true to the time and place. It ended up being a nice pointing piece with graceful lines reminecent of guns built for the working person. Not as fancy as his heavily silver inlayed griffon gun or the like.
